Thanks Dude. I am assuming that by resorting to an annoying comment, you spared us all an even more annoying poster/nerd tunnel. Your restraint is appreciated. It won't last, will it?

Ingnorant yanks, First off you were never in the first world war, and secondly england saved france twice. Nobody owes america anything, America owes the world, as you can't seem to win a war on your own

I am so fucking tired of people making the rest of us look like cocksucking bastards. Seriously. Hate the French? Keep it to yourself. Nobody gives two fucks. Xerius? Blame the poster. Not the rest of us. Thanks.

I'm half French and even I hate the fucking French. I was raised in Europe and would give my life for the USA before ever pissing on France. Anyone who says the USA wasn't reponsible for winning WWII are just plain stupid.

If you put a cardboard box onto a stack of a dozen boxes about to fall, they're gonna fall down. That 1 box represents the effect the US had. It was needed, but most of the work was already done.
RnR - September 6, 2008, 6:24 am,
hear, hear, well said by Carl. For anybody else: forget hollywood for a moment and read some history books, or wikipedia to start with, you'll learn it all aint that simple black/white
OMG - October 9, 2008, 4:15 pm,
CARL/RnR--incredible, read wikipedia? cool resource but if that is your history text that explains your stupidity--it is often completely wrong. The U.S. wasn't the key in WW2? You are crazy-read history books, not wikipedia
RnR - October 9, 2008, 5:59 pm,
wiki is A START to gain some insight. Then read US, UK, GERMAN, FRENCH, DUTCH, etc history books... they are ALL somewhat biased. The thruth is in the middle. FAR FAR from Hollywoods version
RnR - October 9, 2008, 6:01 pm,
and if you really want to some subjective insight, the TALK to people who have been there, while there are still a few around.

America didn't want to be involved when both WWI and WWII started, because they didn't want their economy to suffer like Europe's had. They could have joined the allies early and prevented so many lives being cut short...but they didn't. I'm so tired of A

If my history's correct I believe that France's help was vital to the American colonists winning their independence.

Weber - If my history is correct you guys showed up late, and the tide already started to turn in our favor. You guys just came in for the part where all the glory comes.

Lots of folks also seem to forget that French involvement had little to do with the love of liberty. The primary purpose was to piss off the British. Hell. the German mercenaries were more fundamental to the cause than the French ever were.
